Determination of alignment of all rolls in a paper winder

Problem outline

To determine the vertical and horizontal alignment of all drums and sectional rolls in a high speed paper winder.

Solution

Within one day the laser tracker was used to measure the rotational axis of all rolls and drums. Multiple instrument stations were related in 3d so that all roll rotation axes were accurately determined in 3d.
