3D coordinate measurement
·
Any size item can be measured and 3D coordinates generated
directly to an accuracy of ±0.005mm/m. Generally our techniques suit
items that are between 0.5metres and 100metres in linear dimension
(length, breadth, and height). ·
Free form shapes or regular geometric surfaces can be measured
and the data used for reverse engineering applications or dimensional
checks and comparison with CAD design surfaces. · Captured 3D Data is capable of transferring into a variety of Industry formats or as text files for value adding design elements by clients. |

Alignment
·
Our 3D alignment techniques
enable us to align a wide variety of items including rollers, vertical
shafts, or complete machines. We are able to do this without placing
our instrumentation directly on a reference line and without the traditional
requirement of observing components perpendicular to the line of
sight. · Straightness applications such as machine rails, guides or linear keys can easily be addressed. We can provide a status report and/or actual adjustment figures to be addressed immediately. |
|
Benchmarking
·
On large machinery that
is in service it is usually not possible to measure and align all
components in a single outage. Benchmarking of a machine with leading
edge technology provides you with a snapshot of its dimensional status.
· From the benchmark report you can see the big picture of misalignments, wear, etc. An improvement program is then developed to progressively bring the machine towards ideal efficient operational geometry. Often the adjustment that need to be made can be measured with dial indicators or alignment telescopes. In 6 to 12 months time the machine is benchmarked again to identify the net result of the incremental changes and operational changes. A new improvement plan is then developed and the process repeats. |

Verticality
(±0.005mm/m)
· Where you have vertical machine columns, shafts, or any feature we can make these measurements. Our systems enable us to determine the figure for a single vertical component or the relationship of many adjacent components. For a large coupled shaft this may be verticality, and angular and parallel offsets.

Monitoring and dynamic 3D
measurement
·
With our standard equipment we are able to track
items precisely (0.01mm/m) that are moving at speeds of up to 6metres
per second. This can be done for a radial distance of 40metres from
the tracking instrument. For this type of application our maximum
sampling rate is 1000 points per second. Areas of application are machine
motion plots, load and unloaded mapping, or robot calibration.
· Specialist measurement system developments enabled us to track large rotating equipment in 3D at over 250RMP. |
|
Reverse engineering
· When the drawings for an item are not available but you need to accurate data to develop CAD and CNC information we provide a mobile service. Our technology can be compared to a portable coordinate-measuring machine and easily interfaces with CAD applications. |
|
Mobile equipment and rapid deployment
·
All measurement systems
are mobile and we are able to respond rapidly to user requests. · There is no need to freight your component to us. We can fo to the site of manufacture and provide QA measurements while the component is still on the lathe or milling machine. |
